Road work to shut down north Topeka intersection for 2 months

TOPEKA (KSNT) – City crews will close an intersection in the North Topeka Arts District in the near future for maintenance work to take place.

The City of Topeka announced in its weekly report that an intersection improvement project is scheduled for North Kansas Avenue and NW/NE Gordon Street. Amanda Knowland with the City of Topeka’s Public Works Department told 27 News work will begin on Monday, April 1.

Some improvement work was completed in late February near the intersection on a nearby alley. The intersection will receive storm sewer, sidewalk and curb and gutter work along with a raised table.

Knowland said the intersection will be completely closed for the project with detours to be posted closer to the start date of the road work. The project is expected to be finished by the end of May.
