Recycling crew finds woman’s lost wedding ring in ‘nearly impossible’ task

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — Employees at a South Carolina recycling center found a woman’s missing wedding ring in a “nearly impossible” task on Monday.

Melanie Harper lost her diamond wedding band while tossing her recyclables into the container at the Rutherford Road recycling center, according to the City of Greenville.

Once she realized it was missing, Harper sent an email saying, “I know the likelihood of finding this is slim to none. But, if the ring is found during the course of processing the recycling, I would be most appreciative if someone could contact me.”

Instead of processing everything inside of the recycling bin, litter crew members decided to dump all of the contents out and look for the ring.

After a couple of hours of searching, employee Travis Golden managed to find the ring, which was then returned to Harper.

The other team members who helped with the recovery effort are Jeff Hammond, James Burnside, Frank Daigneault and Manny Cruz.
