RCPD plans to keep community informed on Fake Patty’s Day

29 February 2024

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) wants to “ensure transparency” with the community during this weekend’s Fake Patty’s Day festivities.

According to a spokeswoman with the RCPD, law enforcement has released plans for how it will keep the public up-to-date with information on Fake Patty’s Day, March 2, 2024.

RCPD’s Public Information Officer (PIO) will be posting briefings on Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter, on or about 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the community to stay up-to-date. The agency will not be closing any streets for the festivities in Aggieville, but strongly discourages driving in the area due to the high volume of foot traffic that is expected.

“RCPD will be actively monitoring the event with a significant presence in an effort to reduce crime and enhance the quality of life for participants and Manhattan residents who choose not to participate.”
