KOKOMO, Ind. (KSNT) – KU fans can look ahead to another impressive big man on their team, regardless of Hunter Dickinson’s decision for next season.

Flory Bidunga, a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, committed to KU men’s basketball in August of 2023. He made the decision official with a signature in November.

27 Sports Director Glenn Kinley made the trip to Kokomo, Indiana, where Flory now resides and plays high school basketball. Bidunga, a senior with the Wildkats of Kokomo, tells 27 News he’s been working on a number of areas of his game to get ready for the next level.

On what area of his game he takes the most pride in:

“My motor,” Bidunga said. “I’m pretty physical and sometimes fly around the court. Just trying to do the best you can do which will help the team for sure.”

Bill Self is ‘hopeful’ Kevin McCullar Jr. returns Saturday at Oklahoma

The 6-foot-9 center is more than just a big body. He showed off his jump-shot with a plethora of outside shots in practice on Thursday.

“One of my big parts I have to improve on [is my jump shot,]” he said. “I’m still working on it… I’m trying to be as much effective inside and outside.”

27 Sports Director Glenn Kinley will be providing coverage of Bidunga from Kokomo in various upcoming newscast on KSNT/ KTMJ/ KTKA and will bring stories on the KU commit to Sunday night’s K-Nation special on Feb. 18 and Feb. 25.
