Police arrest Manhattan shooting suspect in Wichita

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Police have made an arrest in a recent Manhattan shooting that left one person injured.

The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) announced in a press release that a 45-year-old Manhattan man was arrested by the Wichita Police Department (WPD) in connection to a shooting on March 3. The WPD used license plate reader technology to make their arrest.

The suspect is facing several charges including:

Attempted second degree murder

Aggravated battery

Aggravated assault

Felony flee and attempt to elude

The shooting was reported around 1:45 p.m. on March 3 in the 1400 block of Flint Hills Place in Manhattan. Upon arrival, officers found a 53-year-old man who had been shot twice in an arm and leg. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his wounds.
