Pedestrian hit by train in Jackson Co.

JACKSON COUNTY (KSNT) – A man was taken to an area hospital after being hit by a train in Jackson County on Wednesday.

Around 9:20 a.m., first responders were dispatched to 126 Road and B Road for reports of a train versus pedestrian incident.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, the pedestrian was trying to cross between the cars of a parked train and was hit by another train heading westbound. Morse said the train that hit the pedestrian left the scene before deputies arrived.

The individual was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
