Part of I-70 close in western Kansas, due to crashes

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—The Kansas Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 70 in both directions between Goodland and Colby due to numerous vehicles blocking the roadway.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and county sheriff’s offices have been dealing with vehicles sliding off roads since early Monday morning.

KDOT says road conditions in northwest Kansas are snow-packed and icy. with reduced visibility in some areas.

The National Weather Service warned drivers to be prepared for hazardous travel conditions in parts of Kansas on Monday.
