Parked car leads to injury crash on I-35 in Emporia

EMPORIA (KSNT) – A 29-year-old woman from Wichita was injured after a crash on I-35 southeast of Emporia.

At 6:32 p.m. on Tuesday, a 72-year-old man from Wichita was checking their GPS while stopped in the second southbound lane of I-35, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

The 29-year-old was driving south on I-35. The woman was unable to avoid crashing into the 72-year-old’s vehicle because lane one was filled, according to the crash log.

The 29-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Two juveniles were present in the woman’s car but their information was protected, according to the log.
