Wichita, KAN. (KSNW) — A man was not breathing as rescuers pulled him out of a Wichita apartment fire early Thursday near Central and Rock.

When fire crews arrived around 4:30 a.m., they found a man in a bedroom. The victim was revived and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No one else was injured in the fire.

Firefighters evacuated the building due to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide.

A Wichita Fire Department battalion chief said the fire was contained to one room.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
