One of 51: exceptionally rare car joins Manhattan collection

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Midwest Dream Car Collection in Manhattan will have a new rare addition.

The Midwest Dream Car Collection (MDCC) is bringing one of the last 47 remaining 1948 Tucker 48s to the collection. Only 51 Tucker 48s were ever made with one of them being a prototype. The car will join MDCC’s varied collection of 80 cars.

The Tucker MDCC is receiving is in immaculate condition after being restored. The car is number 17 of the last remaining Tucker 48s and was previously owned by a couple from Parker Colorado. The car comes to the collection as a donation from the Ward and Brenda Morgan Community Fund.

Turkey vulture numbers increasing in Junction City

An event to reveal the car will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 10. MDCC is open Thursday through Sunday each week, for specific times click here. The car will be on display alongside 65 other vehicles at any given time.

Other rare and iconic cars you can see at MDCC include a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, the 1999 Nissan Skyline GTR R-34, a 1909 Peerless Model 25 Raceabout, Mario Andretti’s 2014 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700- 4 and more.
