14 February 2024
Sunshine remains overhead today, and the weather should be beautiful for Super Bowl Victory Parade over in Kansas City! No matter what your plans are, the weather will be great through this afternoon with highs in the middle 60s, it may just be a tad breezy at times with winds gusting to around 30mph.
A front moves through later tonight and into the early morning hours tomorrow. There may be just enough moisture in our northeastern counties that a few sprinkles could be possible, but most of us will stay dry. We’ll drop back into the middle 50s tonight, but temperatures will struggle a bit Thursday with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s.
There looks to be another push of colder air that arrives by the weekend. With that cooler weather, we’ll keep an eye on any precipitation chances as a weak system looks to give us clouds and perhaps some rain or snow showers for Friday morning as the chillier weather returns. As of right now, the best chance to see snow looks to be in the morning hours Friday, prior to lunchtime. The good news is that impacts appear to be minimal thanks to our unseasonably warm temperatures over the last few weeks. If we see any accumulation, it would mainly be on grassy surfaces, but there may be some slick conditions on your Friday morning commute to watch out for.
Highs will likely be in the upper 30s and lower 40s for Friday and Saturday with overnight lows in the upper 10s to lower 20s. But, much like we saw last weekend, the cool down doesn’t last too long. We look to quickly warm into the middle 50s by Sunday, and close to 60° by Monday. The above average temperatures may even carry us straight through the entire month of February!
