Not as cloudy and dry to start the week

5 February 2024

Weekend rain has moved out and high pressure has built back into the region which will keep skies dry to start the new week. There will still be some cloud cover around early Monday but we will gradually see more breaks of sun.

Despite drier conditions there is still some moisture in the lower levels of our atmosphere. This has caused some patchy fog to develop, especially to the northwest where a Dense Fog Advisory will be in effect until noon today.

Grab the winter coat before you head out the door, we start off chilly in the 30s this morning. Monday afternoon high temperatures will turn mild as we head into the 50s.

Chances for moisture will be on the rise by mid-week. A few showers will be possible between Wednesday and Thursday. Any precipitation will mainly be in the form of rain.

Temperatures will not take much of a hit as this next disturbance rolls through. By the weekend is when there will be a more significant dip in temperatures.

There is also another surge of moisture that is expected over the weekend. This is looking more promising compared to the Wednesday-Thursday disturbance.

A chance for seeing some wintry weather mixing with rain late Saturday into Sunday is being monitored closely. Stay tuned for updates through the week.
