TOPEKA (KSNT) – State transportation officials say a north Topeka highway intersection will be closed for several weeks starting on Wednesday.
The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release the intersection of U.S. 24 Highway and Meriden Road will be closed for pavement work. This is estimated to last for around three weeks.
KDOT spokeswoman Kate Craft says this is part of the department’s reconstruction project on U.S. 24. Drivers can follow signed detours on Goldwater Road, Grantville Road, Burgess Avenue and Kansas Avenue or find an alternative route. You can still get to businesses near the intersection by approaching from the south.
Craft urges drivers to obey all warning signs when traveling by and through the highway construction area. You can keep up with current road work projects in Kansas by going to kandrive.gov or by calling 511.
