WACO, TX (KSNT) – Jeff Mittie’s team keeps finding ways to win.

Kansas State women’s basketball came from behind at the half to win 58-55 at Baylor Monday night.

Earlier in the day, K-State was given a No. 4 ranking in the latest AP Poll. Baylor was given a No. 13 ranking, making Monday night’s show down a big matchup.

It was the second game for the Wildcats without star center Ayoka Lee, who will miss approximately four weeks with ankle surgery.

K-State trailed by as much as 13 in the second quarter, but a Gabby Gregory 3-pointer late in the frame kept the Wildcats within 39-30 at halftime.

A big third quarter on defense limited the Bears to eight points, as K-State trailed by just three points entering the fourth.

Down one, a Serena Sundell layup gave the Wildcats an advantage with 3:29 to play. A layup from Gregory made it 58-55, and neither team would score again.

Sophomore Eliza Maupin, who has seen a limited role in 2023-24 with the return of Lee, scored a season-high 16 points in the game. Sundell and Gregory both had 16 as well.

The win moves K-State’s record to 19-1, 8-0 in Big 12 play. The Wildcats host BYU on Saturday.
