Mulch fire in Topeka at city forestry department

TOPEKA, KS (KSNT) — The Topeka Fire Department responded to reports of heavy smoke at the Forestry Recycling Center on Saturday, April 6. Upon arrival, fire fighters found multiple large piles of mulch on fire and heavy smoke.

According to a press release, this fire is continuing to be monitored by TFD with assistance from the Soldier Township Fire Department.

No structures or injuries have been reported by the fire. 27 News will give you more updates as they become available.
