More unseasonable warmth on the way

30 January 2024

High pressure is still locked in overhead, this will keep skies sunny and dry today. A weak disturbance recently slid through the area bringing about a subtle wind shift.

This will shave a few degrees off of our high temperatures but Tuesday afternoon will still be another pleasant one. Despite the warm temperatures you will still need to bundle up this morning.

We know this unseasonable warmth will not last forever but we will be able to enjoy at least a few more days of it. Temperatures will start to slide back down closer to average over the weekend and into next week.

This temperature change will be associated with our next storm system. It is currently located over the Pacific Ocean but is expected track into the area later this week.

You will notice increasing clouds and a stronger breeze by Friday. Rain chances will gradually rise with showers being more likely by Friday night and Saturday.

Rain lingers through Sunday and will exit by the start of next week. This looks to mainly be a rain event. However, temperatures to the northwest during overnights and early mornings will be around freezing. This could allow a little snow to mix with the rain.
