Missing Overland Park man’s vehicle located at Clinton State Park

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a vehicle, connected with a missing 53-year-old Overland Park man, was located at Clinton State Park.

The sheriff’s office said the vehicle was located late Wednesday night by a deputy and is associated with David Kyle Kempker, who was reported missing by family members on Tuesday, March 19.

The nature of the report was to check on Kempker’s welfare and locate him safely.

The sheriff’s office said deputies concluded an extensive search at Clinton State Park Friday afternoon and is asking anyone with information about Kempker’s location to contact them at (785) 841-0007.

Kansas Search and Rescue used K9 teams during the search.

The Lawrence Police Department, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks game wardens and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers staff also helped in the search.
