MIAA basketball announces postseason awards

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The MIAA conference released its postseason awards for men’s and women’s basketball on Tuesday.

Washburn and Emporia State had a combined nine players listed.

The Ichabods saw two on the men’s side and two on the women’s side. Andrew Orr earned All-MIAA second team and was joined on the postseason recognition list by Sam Ungashick, who was given honorable mention.

For the Washburn women’s team, Aubree Dewey earned All-MIAA third team and defensive team. Yiibari Nwidadah received honorable mention.

Emporia State men’s basketball saw four listed. Alijah Comithier led the squad with a first team honor, Owen Long earned second team, Atavian Butler was named third team and Darius Yohe made the All-MIAA defensive team.

The Lady Hornets lone honoree was Faith Paramore, who earned third-team.
