Man found dead in vehicle at I-70 rest stop in Geary County

GEARY COUNTY (KSNT) – A northeast Kansas sheriff’s office is investigating the death of a man in Geary County Thursday after his body was discovered at a local rest stop.

The Geary County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release it received a call around 6:20 a.m. on April 4 at an eastbound I-70 rest stop at mile marker 310. Deputies responded to the scene for a welfare check.

The sheriff’s office deputies arriving at the scene found a dead man in the driver’s seat of a van. The man’s identity is not being released at this time until his family can be notified. The death is under investigation by the sheriff’s office which is asking anyone who has information connected to this investigation to call 785-238-2261.
