Man charged with murder in southeast Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita man was in court Tuesday where he was charged with first-degree murder.

Dennis Alcox, 38, was charged with both first-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. He is accused of killing Audreanna Hidalgo, 26, on Feb. 22.

The incident happened at the Garden Pines Apartments in the 8100 block of E. Harry St. around 1:54 a.m. on Feb. 22. Police said it was a homicide involving domestic violence.

WPD said there is no documented history between the suspect and the victim.

Alcox was found on Feb. 23 in Junction City. His bond has been set at $1.5 million and is next due in court on March 6.
