WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man has been charged in connection to a double murder in east Wichita on Saturday.
Court documents show John Griffin III was charged with capital murder; more than one victim, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated endangering a child, and two counts of aggravated battery.
The incident happened on Feb. 24 in the 7300 block of E. Kellogg Dr. around 9:25 a.m. Police were called to the area and found Christopher Harrell and Natisha Phillips, both 35 and from Wichita, shot.
Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene, while Harrell was taken to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police said they found a child in one of the rooms who was not hurt. They were taken into protective custody.
Griffin’s bond has been set at $6 million. He is next due in court on March 13.
