Man arrested for attempted murder in Manhattan

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Riley County Police Department (RCPD) has announced it had arrested a man for attempted murder in the first degree.

At 11:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, the RCPD arrested a 39-year-old man after serving a warrant for attempted murder in the first degree- intentional and premeditated, attempted aggravated battery, aggravated assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The charges stem from an event that happened on Feb. 12, 2022, according to the RCPD.

The man was additionally charged with probation violation and failure to appear. He was issued a bond of $314,800 and is in custody at this time.
