A northerly breeze will keep temperatures cool today but it will still be a pleasant start to the weekend.
Moisture has cleared out but there will still be a small chance for rain into and over the weekend. However, the majority of the area will stay dry as showers will be confined to the south as high pressure sits to our north.
By afternoon a few showers will attempt to push into Southwest Kansas and the tip of the Oklahoma Panhandle while the rest of the area sees a mix of sunshine and clouds.
A few raindrops could track a bit farther east along the Kansas/Oklahoma line during the night but most of the area will continue to remain dry. Even though some low temperatures will drop to around freezing to the southwest, wintry weather is not expected.
The weekend will not be a washout but a chance for rain will still need to be monitored. High temperatures continue to exhibit ups and downs but remain spring-like even during our cooler days.
While most showers will still be confined to Southwest Kansas Saturday, some rain could make its way into Central Kansas. Despite this chance, St. Patrick’s Day festivities over the weekend do not need to be cancelled, just be prepared to possibly see some wet weather the farther south and west you are.
A few showers could linger around the Kansas/Oklahoma line into early Sunday morning but the rest of the weekend will be mainly dry. The middle to latter part of next week is looking unsettled with a better chance for showers and storms.
