LYON COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is warning of scammers stopping traffic to sell fake jewelry.

According to the LCSO, they have received multiple reports of individuals walking on the roadway in an attempt to stop traffic. Once traffic is stopped, they then try to sell various items and jewelry.

“Generally, the items that are sold in these transactions are fake,” said the LCSO.

The LCSO says the scammers are reported to be wearing suits and are driving vehicles with registration from Texas.

“Please be cognizant of this fraudulent activity and notify us if you see these individuals,” said the LCSO. “As always, if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
