LAWRENCE (KSNT) – A Big 12 sweep over the weekend is earning the Jayhawks attention across the country in college softball.
On Monday, the Softball America Poll listed KU at No. 20 in its top 25 rankings. It’s the first time KU softball has been ranked since 2015.
The ‘Hawks are 19-7-1 on the season and have won 16 of their last 18. The ranking comes after a 5-0 week for Kansas with a pair of wins against Wichita State before taking three straight from the Bears.
The dominant pitching duo of Kasey Hamilton and Katie Brooks has combined for wins in the circle on 16 of KU’s 19 wins.
Next, Kansas hosts No. 16 Missouri on Wednesday, March 20 at 5 p.m. Then, the Jayhawks go to Houston for a three-game weekend set against the Cougars.
