LAWRENCE (KSNT) – A future Jayhawk men’s basketball player is being recognized as one of the nation’s best high school hoopers.
On Tuesday, Flory Bidunga was named a McDonald’s All-American. Bidunga will play in the McDonald’s All-American game on April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston.
The 6-foot-9 center committed to Kansas in August of 2023 and will join the team for the 2024-25 season. He’s rated as a top 10 recruit, and the No. 2 center in America for his class, by both 247 Sports and On3 Sports.
Only 24 players among the more than 700 nominated were selected as 2024 McDonald’s All-Americans. Bidunga becomes the 51st Jayhawk signee to earn this honor.

Bindunga is averaging 17.9 points and 12.9 rebounds in his current senior campaign in Kokomo, Indiana. He is a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was named the 2022-23 Gatorade Player of the Year in Indiana.
