LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Jayhawk baseball started Big 12 play with a bang.
KU beat No. 3 TCU, 3-1, on Friday in its first conference game of the season. The Horned Frogs entered the game 13-0 on the year.

KU has two more games against TCU on the weekend, at 2 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

After falling into a 1-0 hole in the first inning, KU took the lead in the fifth with a pair of runs and added insurance with a run in the seventh. Shortstop Chase Diggins drove in two of KU’s runs, while Reese Dutton threw seven innings. Dutton allowed just one run, four hits and three walks. He struck out eight.
With the victory, Dan Fitzgerald’s team improves to 8-4 overall.
