TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation is looking for drivers to take part in a survey on road usage across the state.

The department is looking for drivers who can provide feedback for the Midwest Road Usage pilot study. The study is open to anyone in any portion of the state, but they are looking for drivers in rural areas of Kansas, especially those who drive medium-duty vehicles and tractor trailers, in an agricultural capacity.

The study will look at the feasibility of a Road Usage Charge to replace gas taxes as more and more fuel-efficient vehicles replace traditional gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles across the country. Participants will receive up to $100.
