TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will be accepting proposals for the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Kansas.
Almost $16 million in funds are available for DC Fast-Charging projects along EV Charging Fuel Corridors in Kansas. Projects selected will be required to provide a 20% cash match.
“This allows KDOT to verify eligibility and receive feedback on locations of interest,” KDOT Transportation Electrification Manager Tami Alexander said. “The forms will help us to determine support for EV charging in locations around the state.”
The funds come from the Federal Highway Administration’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure fund. For more information on the program, click here.
To apply for the program you must complete a Project Interest Form found here. The deadline to submit proposals is at 11:59 p.m. on June 21. Project proposals will be reviewed from June through July. Award announcements will be made in September.
