TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) has unveiled a new, cutting-edge website designed to show off the latest trends in the state’s labor market.
On Tuesday, March 5, KDOL announced in a press release that its Kansas Labor Information Center (KLIC) is officially live. This is part of KDOL’s improved Labor Market Information Services (LMIS) division. The site is built to supply users with information and resources to make informed decision-making in the labor market in Kansas.
“We are excited about the redesign of the Kansas Labor Information Center (KLIC), as it represents a significant step toward providing individuals and organizations with the data-driven insights needed to thrive in today’s labor market,” said Secretary Amber Shultz at the Kansas Department of Labor.
KDOL Communications Director Becky Shaffer said in the press release that the LMIS division collects, analyzes, reports and publishes data on economic activities and forecasts the relationship between labor, supply and demand in the Sunflower State, according to KDOL. LMIS can also give information such as the number of people who are employed and unemployed, wages paid by industries and occupations, occupational employment trends, occupations that will be in demand in the future and local area labor market information to support the workforce and education.
“In an era where staying informed about labor market trends is crucial, the KLIC website serves as a one-stop hub for comprehensive, up-to-date information on Kansas occupational wages, employment statistics, job growth, industry-specific data, career planning resources, and more. This updated site aims to make it easier for users to navigate the job market, make strategic career choices, and address workforce development needs.”
