KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City-area House representatives have introduced a resolution honoring the Kansas City Chiefs and their championship season.

U.S. Reps. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO), Sam Graves, (R-MO), Sharice Davids (D-KS) and Mark Alford (R-MO) highlighted the accomplishments of the entire organization, the biggest plays of Super Bowl LVIII, and Chiefs Kingdom.

“There are few things that can bring a community together like sports — and even fewer that can bring folks together like the Chiefs have done for the Kansas City region,” Cleaver said.

Throughout the 2023-2024 season, Cleaver said doubters tried to downplay the Chiefs’ talent, tenacity and teamwork.

“In spite of seemingly everyone claiming the Chiefs were broken, they persevered and proved the naysayers wrong yet again. Congratulations to this incredible team, the owners, staff and fans. The Chiefs Kingdom dynasty is just getting started,” Graves said.

Davis said she’s already excited about the possibility of a three-peat for the upcoming season.

“From the players and coaches to the ownership and staff, and of course the best fanbase in football, this was a season that our community will remember forever; and this bipartisan resolution will ensure the record books of America remember it, too,” Cleaver said.

Original cosponsors of the bipartisan resolution also include Reps. Jake LaTurner (R-KS), Jason Smith (R-MO), Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and Zach Nunn (R-IA).
