Sex change surgery for Kansas minors could be banned with new bill

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Governor Laura Kelly is directing flags to be lowered across the state to pay respects to a fallen Kansas Marine.
Earlier this month, five Marines died when their helicopter crashed during a storm near San Diego. One of the victims of the crash was later identified as 21-year-old Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis of Olathe.
Kelly is ordering flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, Feb. 16 to honor Davis’ memory.
Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis was a crew chief for the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter that crashed during a storm in the mountains outside San Diego.
“Lance Cpl. Davis’s life was cut tragically short while serving our country. We will not forget the sacrifices he and the four other young marines made to protect our freedom,” Kelly said. “My condolences go out to these heroes’ families and loved ones.”
