Kansas Children’s Discovery Center to more than double its size with expansion project

4 April 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Some major improvements are coming to Topeka’s popular children’s museum.

The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center announced Thursday it will expand its current building. The expansion will more than double its size.

The project will add space for classrooms, child-care areas, traveling exhibit galleries and more.

“We’re reaching capacity,” CEO Dene Mosier said. “We need additional space. A space like this for children to come in and lead the way to play and learn and develop and discover with their families is so important.”

Mosier tells 27 News they hope to begin work on the expansion towards the end of this summer.
