Kansas catfish, bass fishing tournaments ahead

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Get your rod and reel ready because several fishing tournaments are coming to Kansas and Missouri this summer that you don’t want to miss.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has several fishing tournaments listed in its events section on its website for 2024. Many of the tournaments are for catfish or bass through the Catfish Chasers Tournament Series or Kansas Buddy Bass Tournament Fishing.

Catfish Chasers Tournament Series 2024

David Studebaker with the Catfish Chasers series told 27 News that each event costs $500 to register with 50 teams for each event. Currently, there are six tournaments listed with a Championship Tourney set for the top 25 qualified teams on Sept. 28.

Melvern Lake

7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 11

Wolf Creek/Coffey County Lake

7 p.m. to 8 a.m. on July 13

Check in at main ramp thru gate

Tuttle Creek

7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 3

Check in location to be determined

Calamus Catfish Classic

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 25
