K-State’s Tang wins Coaches vs. Cancer contest

28 January 2024

KANSAS CITY, MO. (KSNT) – K-State men’s basketball coach Jerome Tang is the winner of a local Coaches vs. Cancer contest.

Charlie Hustle, a sports apparel company based in Kansas City, Missouri, launched its first-ever Coaches vs. Cancer t-shirt contest in collaboration with four collegiate coaches.

Tang’s shirts sold higher numbers than those of KU’s Bill Self, Mizzou’s Dennis Gates and Arkansas’ Eric Musselman. The Wildcats’ head coach was announced winner at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

He is now Charlie Hustle’s first-ever ‘Communi-TEE Coach of the Year.’ The shirts are both Tang and Gates’ first shirts with their faces on them, Charlie Hustle says.

The company donated 25% of the proceeds from the shirts to Coaches vs. Cancer, supporting the American Cancer Society.

Charlie Hustle says the shirts are still available online, at their physical Kansas City store and at participating Rally House locations.
