MANHATTAN (KSNT) – No. 10 K-State women’s basketball beat No. 22 West Virginia in overtime at Bramalge Coliseum on Saturday.
Star center Ayoka Lee making it back into the lineup after dealing with an injury for the past few weeks, leading the ‘Cats to a 73-64 win in OT.
K-State got off to a slow start offensively, but the second half is when the ‘Cats came to life. However, it was a back-and-forth game, as the Mountaineers would not back down.
WVU tied the score at 58 on a last-second layup, sending the game to overtime.
The ‘Cats held on during the extra five minutes of play. K-State held the lead for the majority of overtime before cruising to their second-straight win.
In her return to the court, Lee finished with an outstanding 34 points and 12 rebounds on 12-17 shooting.
Up next, the Wildcats are on the road in Lawrence to face the Jayhawks in the second half of the Sunflower Showdown. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Allen Fieldhouse and coverage is on ESPN2.
