WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A federal grant will bring over $33 million to K-State Salina.
On Monday, Sen. Jerry Moran announced the grant will build a $28 million facility that will serve as an education hub for several of K-State Salina’s programs. He also announced a separate $5.5 million grant to provide aviation training equipment to amplify the pilot training partnership.
“We cannot live in the past in aviation. Technology and science is moving as discoveries are moving as fast forward, and we need to make sure that the institutions of our state, in this case Kansas State University, has the resources,” said Sen. Jerry Moran.
Wichita State University’s NIAR will also receive grants of $10 million for purposes of the research, particularly related to composites and advanced manufacturing.
