MANHATTAN (KSNT) – K-State baseball began Big 12 play with a celebration on Friday, and not only because it was a Wildcat win.

The Kansas State pitching staff strung together a no-hitter against Cincinnati, winning 4-0.

The ‘Cats got seven scoreless, no-hit, innings from junior left-hander Jacob Frost, before redshirt sophomore righty Jackson Wentworth threw the final two innings to complete the rare feat. Frost and Wentworth retired the last 22 Cincinnati hitters in order.

Frost threw 118 pitches. He allowed two walks, hit one batter and struck out four.

The Wildcats improve to 8-5 overall and will play two more games against the Bearcats on Saturday and Sunday.
