K-State men’s hoops loses thriller on last second shot

17 February 2024

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – K-State men’s basketball fell to TCU in Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday in a game that went down to the wire.

TCU won 75-72 on a last second three.

The Wildcats’ defense held the Horned Frogs to single-digit points for much of the first half, but TCU came roaring back before the break.

The end of the first half was back-and-forth, but Tylor Perry brought K-State’s offense to life in the final minutes and sent the Wildcats into halftime with a 28-24 lead.

After halftime was when things got dicey. Even with a few clutch buckets from David N’Guessan, TCU led K-State for second part of the half.

Two Cam Carter free throws tied things up at 72 for the ‘Cats with 15 seconds to play, but the Frogs hit a deep three-pointer with one second on the clock to steal the win in Bramlage.

With the loss, K-State is now 15-10 and 5-7 in Big 12 play. Up next, the Wildcats travel to Austin to play Texas on Monday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
