K-57 and US-77 traffic disruptions for resurfacing project

JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) – Motorists can expect traffic disruptions while crews work on a resurfacing project in Junction City.

Starting April 15, work will begin on the first of two phases for a resurfacing project for K-57 and US-77. The first phase will see Shilling Construction Co. of Manhattan patch concrete on the 4-lane section of K-57 north of 18th Street, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Work on the first phase is expected to be completed in early May.

The second phase of construction will start after the first phase is finished. During the second phase of construction, the following locations will be resurfaced:

K-57 north of 18th St. to the south US-77/K-57 junction.

The half-mile stretch on both sides of the US-77/Rucker Road intersection.

US-77 from US-77/Lacy Drive going north 700 feet.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
