Jalon Daniels opts in for new college football video game

23 February 2024

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Jayhawk fans will soon be able to know the feeling of being a star KU quarterback… in a way.

KU quarterback Jalon Daniels plans to be included in EA Sports’ newest NCAA video game, College Football 25.

‘I’m in in the game,” Daniels said on Instagram Friday morning.

In November, he announced plans to return for year five in Lawrence.

The game, which is currently in the works, will reportedly feature all 134 FBS college football teams. It will be the first college football video game by EA since 2014.

Up to 85 players per school will initially appear on rosters in the game, according to ESPN. ESPN also reports that any athlete who agrees to have their name, image and likeness featured in the game will receiver $600 and a copy of the new video game.

EA Sports teased the game with a preview video on Feb. 15. A more extensive reveal is expected to come in May, with the game set to be released in the summer of 2024.

Daniels was the 2023 Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year but had his senior season cut short due to injury, playing in just three games. He threw for over 2,000 yards in just nine games during a breakout 2022 campaign.
