11 February 2024
(NEXSTAR) — Super Bowl LVIII is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET in Las Vegas but some trying to tune in to the pregame on Paramount+ may encounter an unfortunate sight: a frozen screen.
Paramount+ users have been reporting problems accessing CBS’s streaming service since about 5 p.m. ET, a time when many were hoping to catch pregame coverage of the Super Bowl.
According to user reports to multiple outage-tracking sites like DownDetector, Paramount+ is slow to load, freezing on the initial screen, or experiencing audio issues.
One user on X reported that the app had “crashed 3 times since [the] Super Bowl coverage began.” Others say their app is “freezing” and “crashing.”
The X account for Paramount+ Help has directed users to restart their device, and then relaunch Paramount+. The company has also directed viewers to multiple help pages.
Despite the multiple reports of problems with the app, Paramount+ reports it is “not currently experiencing any outage or interruption” to its service.
The Super Bowl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
