Great Plains Nature Center hosting free spring break progams

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Great Plains Nature Center is hosting free spring break programs.

The programs will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 11 through Thursday, March 14, at Great Plains Nature Center, 6232 E. 29th St. N.

Each day will have crafts, games and education stations. A naturalist program will be at 11 a.m., and a guided hike will be at 11:45 a.m.

Attendees will explore food webs, including the unique differences between herbivores, omnivores, carnivores and decomposers.

“This is a fun way to learn all about how different species play vital roles in the food chain,” said GPNC Lead Naturalist Bailey Ritchey. “Learn about the characteristics of microscopic organisms to animals with the sharpest teeth and where they each fall in the food web.”

The event is free and open to everyone of all ages but is aimed toward elementary school-aged children. No registration is required.
