Gov. Kelly proclaims ‘Young Professionals Day’

27 January 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Feb. 5 is going to be Young Professionals Day in Kansas in 2024.

On Friday, representatives for young working people in the state joined Governor Laura Kelly who signed the proclamation. Her signature makes it an official day of recognition for 2024. We caught up with a spokesman who tells us why young adults in the workforce are essential for Kansas.

“We do make up an increasingly large portion of not only the workforce, but also the leadership, but when we talk about young professionals, we aren’t just the voice for tomorrow, we are actively participating in that system today,” Chair at Forge Zachary Surritt said. “So, it’s making sure we get that voice that we deserve.”

Forge says Kelly’s proclamation makes it official this year, and hopes to keep renewing it each year going forward.
