Four Jayhawks, three ‘Cats named All-Big 12 in women’s basketball

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Big 12 released all-conference teams for women’s basketball on Tuesday.

Four Jayhawks and three Wildcats made the list, including a pair of first team honors for both. The awards are voted on by league coaches.

KU’s Taiyanna Jackson and S’Mya Nichols were both named All-Big 12 First Team. K-State’s Ayoka Lee and Serena Sundell earned the same honor, with Lee being a unanimous selection.

Jackson and Lee were both also named to the All-Defensive team. Nichols, naturally, also made the Big 12 All-Freshman team.

K-State’s Gabby Gregory, along with Holly Kersgieter and Zakiyah Franklin of Kansas, received honorable mention.

The Big 12 women’s basketball tournament begins Thrusday, March 7.
