WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Craig Porter Jr. has earned an NBA contract, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced Wednesday.
Porter joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as an undrafted free agent after the draft, signing a two-way contract that allowed him to play in both the G-League and NBA.
The team converted his two-way deal to a four-year contract on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers currently sit at second in the Eastern Conference standings, going 22-5 since Dec. 16.
Porter provided extra depth for the squad when guard Darius Garland missed six weeks with a broken jaw and scored a career-high 21 points on Nov. 19 in a win over the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
Porter was the focal point of the Wichita State University offense his senior season, averaging 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and five assists per game.
