WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A building once an affordable housing option for some Wichita residents is coming down.
Workers began tearing down the former apartment building next to the Nifty Nut House. The site will be turned into a parking lot.
Back in October, KSN News talked with residents as they were informed that they would have to pack up and move. Nifty Nut House owner Steve Jahn told KSN that since buying the property in 2018, he planned to knock it down eventually.
According to the City of Wichita Housing and Community Services, there’s a shortage of around 40,000 quality affordable housing units statewide.
