Floors installed at new St. Jude Dream Home in Topeka

9 April 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The 2024 St. Jude Dream Home is one step closer to completion.

On Monday, April 9, Skilled Saws Hardwood Flooring and Denali Home Design started installing the floors in the new home. This marks the eighth year the flooring company has worked with St. Jude.

Building the Dream Home is a multi-step process and takes teamwork to complete. The lead installer, Nathan Ast, spoke to 27 News, walking us through the week-long project.

“We have to first buff off all the concrete, and then we have to vacuum it all up,” Ast said. “Then we trial out the glue, and then we put the boards in, and then have to tape all the boards together. That sits for about one day, then pull the tape off.”

We will keep you updated on the Dream Home’s progress. Tickets to enter the giveaway drawing will go on sale later this month.

The home will have an estimated value of $600,000 and is located at 2635 SW Sherwood Park Drive in Topeka. Only 7,000 tickets will be sold for this giveaway.
