WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wendy’s restaurant near Seneca and Pawnee in south Wichita had to close Wednesday afternoon due to a fire.
Someone discovered the fire shortly before 3 p.m. at the Wendy’s in the 2500 block of S. Seneca.
Firefighters arrived quickly and found fire coming from the refrigeration units outside the restaurant. Lt. Jon Jarvis of the Wichita Fire Department said the fire never got into the building.
“Unfortunately, the Wendy’s is going to be shut down for a little while until they can get that back up and running,” he said. “Other than that, it was just a quick knockdown and no injuries. Nothing like that. Not too much damage to the building.”
Jarvis said that even though the fire was in the refrigeration units, the fire department was still investigating it.
“They’re still in the process of investigating it,” he said. “They’re going to come out on anything significant like this, especially of the commercial structure like this one is and just make sure everything is on the up and up.”
KSN News called the Wendy’s restaurant to find out when it will reopen. We got the answering machine but could not leave a message.
