Fire damages home, destroys 2 cars in Harvey County

WALTON, Kan. (KSNW) — Crews from across portions of Harvey and Butler County responded to assist the Walton Fire Department Tuesday morning in battling a house fire.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of N. Walton Avenue. The Newton Fire Department says fire crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to bring it quickly under control.

The residents and their pets escaped safely, and no one was hurt. The home has significant damage, and two cars were destroyed. Newton Fire says the cause hasn’t been determined yet, but the state fire marshal will be assisting with the investigation.
